David grew up in Boston watching movies and playing guitar in bands like the hardcore/art band Sorry, and indie rock/noise darlings, Volcano Suns.
After studying film production at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, he combined a love of music and film by directing dozens of music videos for bands such as Yo La Tengo, Guided By Voices, and The Fall. He wrote a "how-to" book about low-budget music videos called You Stand There.
Relocating to Los Angeles, David worked in non-fiction television as a producer and editor. He co-directed Not A Photograph, a feature-length documentary about the reunion of the legendary Mission of Burma.
He became a Digital Producer at Magical Elves, directing, producing, shooting, and editing web series for reality shows such as Top Chef. That led to Fullscreen Inc., where he directed and produced branded content and ran their internal promo video department.
Nickelodeon tapped David to create YouTube content and help with linear programming during the Pandemic. Ultimately, he developed, created, and was the show runner for Face’s Music Party and Nick News, which received an Emmy for Best Multicamera Editing in 2023.
David continues to direct music videos, promos, and branded content, makes music and works on personal documentary projects.
